•  Make-Up

Properly applied make-up will greatly enhance your appearance, particularly in the many photographs which will be taken in the course of the day. On the other hand, too much makeup, the wrong makeup, or improperly applied makeup can have the opposite effect. Heavy eyeliner or heavy false eyelashes will cast unwanted shadows over your eyes and cheeks. No make-up may result in a washed out appearance. Ideally, your make-up should enhance your beautiful features without its presence being apparent.

•  Portraits

When selecting clothing for portrait sessions, consider solid colors over patterns because bold patterns detract from facial features and expressions.

For prenatal shoots, a button down shirt works well for the belly to hang out, or pieces of shiny fabric to drape over you. Please let the photographer know for prenatal shoots if you prefer a more conservative or less conservative photo shoot.

Portraits should be booked at least 1 week in advance.
September to December are very busy months because of the holidays approaching, so more notice may be needed during those months.

•  Weddings

Photo session timing: Be sure to leave at least 2-3 hours. It's always best to have a little bit of extra time to be able to take a breather before the reception, than having to hurry to fit everything in. Also take into consideration the number of locations requested, and the driving time in between them. Extra driving time cuts into the shooting time, and should be arranged into the day's schedule. I can help you plan the timing of your day if you need it :)

The best wedding pictures are taken when the bride and groom and relaxed, having fun, and are excited about the picture taking process. Everyone wants great pictures, but some people do not correspond what is required of them on the day of the wedding with the final outcome of the pictures. During the shoot, listen intently to the photographer, share your ideas, be romantic, flirt with each other, try to make each other laugh, and think about all of your favorite things about your new spouse during the session. Be sure your wedding party knows that the pictures are very important to you, and you would love for them to have fun with you and to be as cooperative as possible. It's also great to have the first half of the session with the bridal party, and the second half with only the two of you.

The special kids in your life can be a great part of your wedding day and are very cute walking down the aisle. If you have kids in your wedding party and want formal pictures with them, consider having them come to the formals only for a short while and have someone there who can take them when their portion is finished.
